IPL Auction 2025: Parthiv Patel takes up a key role in Gujarat Titans.
The Gujarat Titans made a significant move by hiring a
new batting coach and assistant before the highly anticipated Indian Premier
League (IPL 2025) mega auction. Parthiv Patel, a former batsman and
wicketkeeper for India, will coach the Gujarat Titans in the 2025 Indian
Premier League season.
Parthiv Patel has teaching and talent scouting experience. For three seasons, the former cricket player served as a talent scout for the Mumbai Indians (MI) team. In 2023, he was also Mumbai Emirates' batting coach. During his career, Patel played for India in two Twenty20 Internationals, 25 Test matches, and 38 ODIs.
Parthiv Patel Appointed as Batting Coach of Gujarat Titans for IPL 2025
Parthiv Patel was named the Gujarat Titans' new
assistant and batting coach on Wednesday, November 13. The organization is
thrilled to have him on board and says the team will benefit from his
invaluable knowledge.
It is with great pleasure that the Gujarat Titans
announce Parthiv Patel as their new batting coach and assistant. Parthiv, a
former Indian wicketkeeper-batter with a stellar 17-year career, adds a wealth
of experience and understanding to the club, the organization stated in a
statement.
"The Titans will benefit greatly from Parthiv's
advice on batting tactics and ideas as they get ready for the forthcoming
Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
"Parthiv, who is known for his sharp cricketing acumen and ability to mentor young talent, will strengthen the coaching staff and contribute to player development and performance," GT stated in its statement.
Parthiv Patel Replaces Gary Kirsten on Gujarat Titans' Coaching Staff for IPL 2025
Gary Kirsten has been replaced by Parthiv Patel as the
Gujarat Titans' new batting coach and mentor. In order to become the head coach
of Pakistan's white-ball team, Kirsten quit the IPL club.
The Gujarat Titans still have Vikram Solanki as their
director of cricket.Patel also played for several IPL teams throughout his
career, including Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians, and Royal
Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He was picked by CSK as a pure batter and later
won titles with both Chennai and Mumbai. Patel last played in the IPL with the
Royal Challengers in 2018.

Rashid Khan Retained as Gujarat Titans' First Retention for IPL 2025
For Rs 18 crores, the Ahmedabad-based team kept Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan as their preferred choice. Additionally, they retained Sai Sudharsan for Rs 8.5 crores and captain Shubman Gill for Rs 16.5 crores. As uncapped players, Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia were also kept for Rs 4 crore apiece.
The IPL mega auction is scheduled
to happen in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24–25. With the purchases they
make at the next auction, the Gujarat Titans hope to assemble a formidable
team. The team's captain for the 2025 IPL will be Shubman Gill. In the last
season, he was unable to lead the squad to the playoffs.
