IPL 2025 Auction Day 1: Full List of 72 Players Sold
IPL 2025 Auction Sold Players List: With 72
players scheduled to be put up for auction today, the IPL mega auction is well
underway. The two-day event is being held at the Abadi Al Johar Arena in
Jeddah.
With a
winning bid of Rs 27 crore from the Lucknow Super Giants, Rishabh Pant overtook
Shreyas Iyer as the most expensive acquisition in IPL history. Venkatesh Iyer
was the unexpected show-stopper as clubs, as anticipated, shelled out a fortune
for top Indian players at the mega auction held here on Sunday.
Following
disagreements with their respective teams, Shreyas, who led the Kolkata Knight
Riders to victory earlier this year, and Pant, the legendary player for the
Delhi Capitals, benefited from being put up for auction.
Venkatesh was a member of Shreyas' winning KKR team as well, and after failing to retain him, the team had to pay an incredible Rs 23.75 crore to bring him back via the Right to Match card.
IPL 2025 Mega sale: On the
first day of the IPL Mega Auction, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a
total of 72 players were up for sale. Rishabh Pant made history by selling for
a record price among them.
On the first day of the Indian Premier
League's (IPL 2025) season-18 mega auction, up to 72 players were auctioned.
